Heavyweight cotton is built to last, but only if you let it. Most of what wears clothing out is the washing, not the wearing.
We wash cold, inside out, and not very often. A hoodie worn outside doesn't need a machine every time; air does most of the work.
We skip the dryer. Line-dried cotton keeps its shape and its weight, and it smells like the day you dried it.
None of this is complicated. It's just the difference between a piece that lasts two seasons and one that lasts ten.
