Sofia, before the heat

Sofia runs before the valley wakes. Out the door at five, back before the first cable car, while the trails still belong to the deer.

She isn't training for anything. She runs because the early hours are the only ones that are completely hers.

We followed her up the valley rim as the light came in sideways through the trees. She didn't talk much. Neither did we.
